Back Row (L-R):  (Headteacher/Adrian Rice (Editor, Abbey Press), Florence and  John Anderson,  Mel Mahon (Abbey Press)
Front Row (L-R):  Grania McFadden, Sarah Ferris, Margaret McFadden

This last collection of Roy McFadden's poems are presented as he ordered them. Last Poems is overwhelmingly elegiac in tone, and strikingly less guarded than McFadden's previous collections. It comprises a moving requiem for a craftsman of elegance and integrity, who was  burdened by a duty to 'capture and immobilise / The transient moments' (Granny Bell') and small sufferings of his country's 'congregation of stopped mouths' ('Replaying Old Gramophone Records').
